The Corporate Diversity Directory gets a makeover

The Cambridge Business Diversity Directory 2022 is now available as an interactive tool, making it easier than ever to find and support local businesses owned by historically excluded people, including women, black people, indigenous people and people of color (BIPOC), veterans and people with disabilities. , and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

“The city’s economic development division is constantly trying to find new and innovative ways to showcase businesses in Cambridge,” said City Manager Louis DePasquale. “The Cambridge Business Diversity Directory has seen significant improvements over the past few years, and I hope the community will use this expanded tool to support our diverse business community.”

The Cambridge Business Diversity Directory presents information about ownership, location, goods and services offered, and unique features in a way that’s easy to find and share. This year’s edition of the Directory has moved from a PDF format to an interactive platform that allows users to perform personalized searches, view businesses on a map and print reports. The new directory also includes personalized business descriptions and allows business owners to upload photos.

“We are delighted to present the updated Business Diversity Directory to the community,” said Deputy City Manager for Community Development Iram Farooq. “This edition brings the Directory into the 21st century and will make it easier than ever for people to connect with their favorite local business.”

The Cambridge Business Diversity Directory will now be updated on a rolling basis rather than annually. Businesses do not need to be certified by the state to be included in the directory, and owners can register at any time. Economic Development staff are available to help you register and can help you write business descriptions and select photos. Visit cambridgema.gov/BusinessDiversityDirectory to view the directory or to add your business.
