Press Release 30-Public Assistance in the Homicide of Areyelle Yarbrough

Areyelle Yarbrough Public Assistance Homicide Investigation

Detectives are asking for the public’s help in obtaining information about the Areyelle Yarbrough murder investigation. The homicide took place on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021.

Just after 7:00 p.m., Birmingham police responded to WC Patton Park after gunfire broke out. At the time of the shooting, hundreds of people were gathered in the park. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, Areyelle Yarbrough lying on the ground just outside the passenger door of her vehicle with gunshot wounds. Yarbrough succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
