Poway Town Hall Closes to Public Due to COVID Infections
Poway Town Hall is closed to the public from Tuesday, Jan.4 due to numerous cases of COVID-19 among employees, officials said Monday evening.
“We are not taking this closure lightly,” said city manager Chris Hazeltine. âWe are committed to balancing our public service responsibilities with the health and well-being of our employees. “
City staff will be available to help customers by phone or email, officials said.
The Town Hall will reopen provisionally the week of January 17. The next city council meeting is scheduled for January 18 at 7 p.m.
The Mickey Cafagna Community Center, the Poway Center for the Performing Arts and other offices in the city are not affected at this time, officials said. The closure will have no impact on essential services such as firefighters, law enforcement and public works.
Recreational programs and activities will continue as planned, including this weekend’s winter festival at Poway Community Park.
