More than 500 people attend the alumni meeting at GADVASU in Ludhiana

The Guru Angad Dev University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (GADVASU) held the “Alumni Meeting-2022” on Sunday.

Over 500 attendees from various veterinary, fisheries, dairy and biotechnology backgrounds joined the event with alumni and former Dean of the College of Veterinary Sciences, RP Saigal, presiding as the chief guest.

The meeting of the elders began with the recitation of the shabad. Technical sessions were conducted in the respective colleges of the university, where experts from relevant fields shared their knowledge and experiences and exchanged their ideas. A tribute was paid to the elders who had departed for their heavenly home in the recent past.

Vice Chancellor Inderjeet Singh addressed the alumni and encouraged them to do their best in their respective areas of expertise to uplift the profession as well as society. He also praised the role played by professionals during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The alumni house has decided to hold the next alumni meeting on the third Saturday of November 2023 so that alumni around the world can plan ahead and join the event.

A short film on the creation and activities of GADVASU was screened. A session of interactive and fun games was also organized.

On this occasion, three volumes of Vet Alumnus, GADVASU, Phone Book and Livestock Statistics Handbook were released. ‘Diabet Egg’ for people with diabetes, developed by former student ML Kansal, was also launched on this occasion.

Testimonials from NRI Alumni, Baljit Singh, Canada; Jaswant Singh, Canada; Harpreet Singh Kochhar, Canada; Mahavir Singh, USA, Amninder Singh Sekhon, USA, Harsimranjit Kaur, Australia were also posted.
