Mamma Mia’s in Rockford, Illinois closed permanently?
It’s rarely a nice feeling to share the news of a local business closing its doors. The only time it can bring joy is if the owners shut down the place to make way for an updated version or something completely new. This is not one of those circumstances.
Not only has a restaurant closed, but it has also affected another business in town that has no plans to shut it down.

In 2017, a food challenge in Rockford, Illinois began to attract attention from across the United States. In fact, that same year, a 2-person crew demolished a 32-inch pizza in 15 minutes. I had the chance to chat with her about food challenges like this, which you can’t just train yourself to do.
Molly Schuyler is a professional foodie who can put away incredible amounts of food like nothing happened. She’s set food challenge records nationwide, been featured on television, and has been to Rockford for similar challenges more than once, including her visit to Mamma Mia’s on N. Alpine Road.

The menu at Mamma Mia’s, at 1139 N Alpine Road, included pizzas, calzones, pastas, wings and more. Although their phone number still works and their website still open, the trade is permanently closed.
Mamma Mia’s closure has another Rockford business in limbo.
