SOPHOMORE (2021-22): Established himself as one of the best players in college basketball…2022 Big Ten Player of the Year…2021 Maui Invitational Tournament MVP after averaging 23.7 points (47.2% FG, 46 .2% 3FG, 15-15 FT) and 6.7 rebounds per game over three games, including a then-career-high 30-point outburst against No. 12 Houston (11/23/21) … Won a career-high 37 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Badgers to a victory at No. 3 Purdue (01/03/21) … Scored a team-high 26 points, while grabbing 9 rebounds and tying career-high 5 assists vs. Iowa (1/6/22) … Led the Badgers with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in a rematch at No. 17 Michigan State… The summer before the season, Davis won a gold medal with USA Basketball at the 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup (July 3-11), averaging 4.1 points, 1 .7 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 1 2.4 minutes per game in the seven-game tournament
FIRST YEAR (2020-21): Played in all 31 games for the Badgers as a true rookie … Averaged 7.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 24.4 minutes per game as the team’s primary reserve … Ranked fifth in the league team in minutes played (24.4 mpg), which dates back to the 2012-13 season, only teammate Brad Davison (31.2 mpg) and All-American Ethan Happ (28.1 mpg) trailed for most minutes per game by a Badger in his first season at Wisconsin… Breakout game against Penn State (2/2/21) with career highs in points (17), FG (6-7), 3FG (4-4), steals (3), plus 4 rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench … Played a career-high 41 minutes against Indiana (1/7/21) and led UW in rebounding with a high in 8 rebounds, as well as a career-high 3 steals… Against Nebraska (12/22/20), finished with a +/- of +24 totaling 7 points and 6 rebounds in 24 minutes.. HIGH SCHOOL: Four-Star Rookie by Rivals…2020 Wisconsin Mr. Basketball…McDonalds All-American Game Nominee…2018-19 La Crosse Tribune Coulee Region Player of the Year…Ended career in high school as La Crosse Central’s all-time leading scorer with 2,158 points … Led Central to the WIAA Division 2 State Tournament each of his three years on the varsity team, winning the title of state in 2017 … As a senior, Davis averaged 27.4 points and 9.2 rebounds per game for the Red Raiders, who reached the Division 2 Finals before the end of the season due to the coronavirus pandemic … His junior season, Davis was named Conference Player of the Year after averaging 23 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists per game for Central, also earning all-state unanimous selection in the first-team and first-team all-conference honors… Sophomore ed, averaged 22.7 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists per game and earned first-team all-conference and first-team all-state honors… On the football field, Davis was a starter in first-team all-state at quarterback, passing for 6,572 yards and 56 touchdowns, while rushing for more than 2,000 yards and scoring another 34 rushing touchdowns
PERSONAL: Parents are Mark and Sarah Davis…father, Mark, played 13 professional basketball seasons, including 31 games with the Milwaukee Bucks in 1988-89, after being selected in the fourth round of the 1985 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers . Mark played college basketball at Old Dominion University…the family has two sets of twins: Jonathan and Jordan, who are twins and current teammates at Wisconsin, plus two younger siblings and a second set of twins in brother, Maxwell, and sister, Samantha
